Detailed website content with stage illustrations
The proposed integrated process converts prepared iron-bearing material into molten iron, refined steel, continuously cast billets and rolled products such as TMT reinforcement bars and wire rod. Each stage is linked through controlled material flow, thermal management, instrumentation, utilities, quality assurance, environmental controls and plant automation. This section provides editable, website-ready descriptions for the complete conceptual steel-production route.
Controlled receipt, storage, blending and furnace feed
Iron-bearing pellets, coke or reductant, limestone or dolomite, and any approved metallic additions are received, sampled, stored and blended to provide a stable ironmaking feed.
Reduction of iron oxides and production of molten hot metal
Prepared iron-bearing material, coke and flux are charged to the blast furnace. Heated air and controlled fuel injection generate the temperature and reducing gases required to convert iron oxides into molten iron.
Transfer, sampling and removal of selected impurities
Molten iron is transferred from the blast furnace in refractory-lined ladles or torpedo vessels. Temperature and chemistry are checked, and pretreatment may remove sulphur or other impurities before primary steelmaking.
Carbon removal, chemistry adjustment and clean-steel control
Hot metal is converted into steel by controlled oxidation and slag reactions. Secondary refining then adjusts composition, temperature and cleanliness for billet casting and the intended TMT-bar or wire-rod grades.
Controlled solidification into semi-finished steel billets
Refined molten steel flows from the ladle through a tundish into water-cooled moulds. The partly solidified strands are supported, cooled, straightened and cut into billets for rolling or sale.
Uniform temperature preparation for stable hot rolling
Billets selected for rolling are charged into a reheating furnace. Controlled heating raises the full billet section to the temperature required for deformation while limiting scale, oxidation and temperature variation.
Progressive section reduction and formation of finished profiles
Hot billets pass through roughing, intermediate and finishing stands. Roll grooves progressively reduce the section and form either ribbed reinforcement bar or small-diameter rod for coiling.
Cooling, testing, identification, packaging and delivery
Rolled products are cooled under controlled conditions, cut or coiled, inspected and tested. Accepted material is identified by heat and grade, bundled or strapped, stored and released for dispatch.
